AACE
International Annual Meeting
in Dallas, Texas
(photo taken while being squished in back of
the elevator by Mary Kay conventioneers)
Rocky Mountain Section had good
representation at the Dallas annual meeting.
There were five section members at least, that
attended and got together after the daily
sessions and sampled some of the diverse
flavor of Dallas (see below). There may have
been more among the over 500 AACE
attendees who tended to get lost among the
thousands of Mary Kay people in the same
hotel having their annual meetings. You never
had an empty elevator ride!

While at the annual meeting we learned that
our Executive Director M.Melissa Moore was
leaving the AACE International. So now we
begin the search for a new Executive Director
and look forward to the exciting new ideas
they will bring to our organization.
While some of us were off in Dallas, here in
Denver John Berka, Shawn Krier and Maria
Martinez were proctoring the Certified Cost
Engineering examination. Four people from
around the region sat for the examine, the
same day as many others were taking the
exam around the world. Best of luck to all the
people who are trying to become Certified.
| The
SUPERIOR Section Award is
accepted by Section President Bill
Seyfer
Leading up to the AACE International Annual
meeting in Dallas, Bill Conn our Section
Treasurer was working very hard on the
application for Outstanding Section Award. All
of his efforts and the work our section had
done over the year, came to fruition when I got
to take the stage on Sunday night at the
Dallas annual meeting and accept the
"Superior Section Award" for outstanding
accomplishment and performance during the
'96-'97 season. This was truly a proud moment
for our section to be so recognized in our
international organization with over 100
sections. - Bill Seyfer

Bill Seyfer and Jim Daley proudly display the
award plaque, and provide an excellent photo
opportunity, for the local & international
media outlets in attendance.
